Google East European travel grant program
As part of their Eastern European Travel Grant program, Google have agreed to fund two travel grants worth 500 EURO to delegates from Eastern Europe to present papers at ECML PKDD. Delegates from Eastern Europe are eligible, with preference given in the following order:
- Highest ranked papers
- Authors of full papers (PhD students then Academics)
- Authors of other conference publications (short papers/posters, workshops papers, etc)
- PhD student attendees
Eligible countries include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Republic of Macedonia, Russian Federation & Ukraine.
To be eligible, you must have a valid registration confirmation. Recipients must acknowledge Google when presenting their work (where applicable) as follows "We would like to thank Google for funding the travel grant that enabled XYZ to attend the conference and present the paper."
To apply, please complete the grant application form by August 28 2011. Recipients will be notified by September 1, 2011.
UNESCO Privacy Chair program
The UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy (https://unescoprivacychair.urv.cat) offers economic support to offset some of the costs associated with attending ECML PKDD 2011 for participants coming from “transition” countries, which are nations other than USA, Canada, Western Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Preference is given to student authors, and authors of accepted papers.
